From raising funds for charity to supporting issues concerning the environment, from helping those with mental disorders to fighting for social justice, these non-profits have become an important part of Geek Culture in general, offering ways for Geeks everywhere to give back to their communities and the world-at-large.

Gaaays in Spaaace

The nonprofit organization advocates diversity and inclusion within both Hollywood and the aerospace industry through a Space Camp scholarship program and annual Star Trek convention.

Pop Culture Hero Coalition

Star Trek actress Chase Masterson co-founded the organization to help end bullying and improve the social and emotional skills in children by using popular culture as coping tools in schools.

Protego Foundation

The non-profit animal rights organization uses the books and films of Harry Potter to engage fans of the series and create campaigns designed to protect animals within the real world.

Random Tuesday and Fandom Running Clubs

The non-profit Random Tuesday sponsored virtual runs from 2014 until 2022 that were geared towards various fandoms, with the proceeds of each event going to charity organizations nationwide.

Transfiguring Adoption

From 2015 until 2023, the non-profit assisted adoptive parents and foster families to connect with traumatized children under their care by showing the ways that popular culture can help.
